Nominations Due July 8 for 2005 Green Power Leadership Awards
Presented each year by EPA, the Department of Energy (DOE), and the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), the Green Power Leadership Awards honor exemplary national green power Purchasers, Suppliers, and Market Builders. Green Power Partners are eligible for the Purchaser Awards, which recognize green power purchasers in the following three categories: On-site Generation, Green Power Purchasing, and Partner of the Year. Information about previous winners can be found at http://www.epa.gov/greenpower/awards/pastwinners.htm.
NOMINATIONS ARE DUE JULY 8, 2005.
Partners are encouraged to self-nominate; previous nominees and winners are eligible. Nominations can also be submitted by green power purchasers that are not yet Partners in the Green Power Partnership. Purchaser nominees that are not yet Partners will have until September 8, 2005 to submit a Letter of Intent to join the Partnership.
The 2005 awards will be presented at a dinner banquet on Monday evening, October 24, at the 10th National Green Power Marketing Conference, taking place in Austin, Texas, October 24-26, 2005. See additional details about the 2005 conference.

Funding Opportunities for On-site Renewable Generation

The document includes opportunities from the federal government, state agencies, and private foundations.
Financial Stakeholders Increase Interest in Corporate Climate Performance
The Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), a collaboration of
leading U.S. and European institutional investors managing over
$3 trillion in assets, recently released a 10-point action plan
calling on U.S. companies, Wall Street firms, and the Securities
and Exchange Commission to intensify efforts to provide investors
with comprehensive analysis and disclosure about the financial
risks presented by climate change. The plan calls for a series
of specific steps by institutional investors, fund managers, and
financial advisors to better understand and track the climate change
performance of publicly traded companies. Green power purchases
are a climate strategy that corporate Partners can feature for
shareholders and interested investors. Visit INCR’s
Web site
for
more information.
