Nominations Due July 8 for 2005 Green Power Leadership Awards

Presented each year by EPA, the Department of Energy (DOE), and the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), the Green Power Leadership Awards honor exemplary national green power Purchasers, Suppliers, and Market Builders. Green Power Partners are eligible for the Purchaser Awards, which recognize green power purchasers in the following three categories: On-site Generation, Green Power Purchasing, and Partner of the Year. Information about previous winners can be found at http://www.epa.gov/greenpower/awards/pastwinners.htm.

Financial Stakeholders Increase Interest in Corporate Climate Performance

The Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), a collaboration of leading U.S. and European institutional investors managing over $3 trillion in assets, recently released a 10-point action plan calling on U.S. companies, Wall Street firms, and the Securities and Exchange Commission to intensify efforts to provide investors with comprehensive analysis and disclosure about the financial risks presented by climate change. The plan calls for a series of specific steps by institutional investors, fund managers, and financial advisors to better understand and track the climate change performance of publicly traded companies. Green power purchases are a climate strategy that corporate Partners can feature for shareholders and interested investors. Visit INCR’s Web site Exit EPA Disclaimer for more information.
