The company uses material with recycled content in its products, a practice that started over 30 years ago. It also recycles over 95 percent of the scrap material from the manufacturing process. Through its innovative Environmentally Bound™ program, the company recycles or reuses the various components of vinyl ring binders that are returned to it by customers, thereby diverting these materials from the nation’s landfills. The purchase of renewable energy is a further step in the company's continuing efforts to help protect the environment. Renewable resources account for 10 percent of the its energy needs. American Thermoplastic Company has taken a leadership position in its industry by becoming one of the first companies to use green power.
