Biokleen is a formulator and manufacturer of natural, non-toxic cleaning products. Founded in a Portland, OR garage, in 1989, Biokleen remains family owned and operated to this day, producing General Household, Kitchen, Laundry, Pet Mess, and Professional cleaners in our on-site Vancouver, WA facility. As part of our mission to reduce waste and preserve our planet, Biokleen offsets 100 percent of the electricity used in our factory and offices through locally purchased wind power renewable energy credits. The pioneer of ultra-concentrated formulas, we likewise offset 100 percent of our water usage by restoring 6,778,000 gallons of water annually to critically dewatered streams along Oregon’s central Deschutes River.
Since making the switch to green power, in March 2012, Biokleen has been featured in Clark Public Utilities’ campaign to educate local citizens and businesses about its sustainable energy programs and practices. The ads helped us to inform our most important consumers, our own community, about our product line and guiding principles. We extended that work to all longstanding and potential customers by including our offsets in our labels, marketing materials, and social media outreach.
"Biokleen is proud to produce green products using green manufacturing principles. Our company was upheld by our local utilities company, throughout 2012, in TV, radio, and movie theater ads regarding our energy offsets, and including footage of our plant. By adding this key sustainability measure, Biokleen brought our mission full circle to shine from the inside out." - Cindy Rimer, VP of Sales & Marketing/Director
