| Partner Profile The City of Santa Monica, California, a 2001 Green Power Leadership Award winner, was the first municipality in the nation to purchase 100 percent green power in 1999. The City recently extended its contract with its green power supplier for another 2-year term. Under the terms of the agreement, the City will continue to receive renewable energy certificates equal to all of its power needs. The City is continuing its commitment to invest in solar photovoltaics through its Solar Santa Monica program and other forms of clean distributed generation in upcoming capital improvement projects. The City is currently exploring the feasibility of an aggregated solar project for multiple sites. | |
