| Partner Profile The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania joined the Green Power Partnership in 2005 and received a Green Power Leadership Award in 2006. Pennsylvania purchases a combination of wind and biomass renewable energy certificates equivalent to a significant portion of the annual electricity use of its state facilities. "Affordable, reliable, and environmentally beneficial energy is the foundation for a cleaner environment, a stronger economy, and greater security at home," Environmental Protection Secretary Kathleen A. McGinty said, and added that joining the Green Power Partnership is a reflection of "the Rendell Administration's aggressive efforts and the Legislature's recent actions on measures that are helping to make Pennsylvania a national leader in the development and deployment of energy technology." | |
