Since 2008, MTS has been purchasing renewable energy certificates for a portion of its electricity needs, and currently the company purchases a 95/5 biomass/wind blend from its local utility. “For an operation of our size, purchasing even a small percentage of renewable energy can have a noticeable impact on our carbon footprint,” noted Phil Swy, CEO of MTS.
