As an organic farmer-owned cooperative, sustainability has been ingrained in our mission from the start. CROPP Cooperative is grounded in the pursuit of sustainability in every way you define the word- environmentally as well as socially and economically.
Our energy efforts focus on operational sustainability, renewable energy production, and on-farm sustainability. In 2012, we partnered with Gundersen Lutheran Health Systems to build the Cashton Greens Wind Farm. We also have solar panels located on many of our La Farge based facilities and we grow our own oil seed crops to process into locally-sourced, sustainable biofuel.
In 2013, renewable energy offset 39 percent of our total energy use, and 69 percent of our electricity.
