Salisbury University is a premier comprehensive Maryland public university, offering excellent, affordable education in undergraduate liberal arts, sciences, pre-professional and professional programs, including education, nursing, social work, and business, and a limited number of applied graduate programs. Our highest purpose is to empower our students with the knowledge, skills, and core values that contribute to active citizenship, gainful employment, and life‑long learning in a democratic society and interdependent world.
Salisbury University has established a date of 2050 for achieving carbon neutral emissions. To achieve that goal, an agressive approach was developed in a Climate Action Plan (CAP) which was published in 2010. The CAP includes a combination of campuswide energy efficiency improvements, LEED silver or better new buildings and major renovations, geothermal heating / cooling projects, solid waste reduction, green housekeeping, student and occupant education initiatives, renewable energy certificate (REC) purchases, and on-site renewable energy to stay on track with that goal.
