| Partner Profile Santa Clara University, a comprehensive Jesuit, Catholic university located in California's Silicon Valley, is California's oldest operating higher-education institution. Santa Clara University is committed to developing a culture of sustainability with its students, faculty, and staff. The University has signed the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment and is also partnering with Sustainable Silicon Valley to reduce its emissions to 20 percent below 1997 levels by the end of 2010. Santa Clara University has 1,050 kW of onsite solar generation and is also purchasing wind power from its local utility to cover a significant portion of it power needs. | |
