Partner Profile In 2005, the University of Utah began purchasing 25,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of wind power to minimize its use of fossil fuels. Motivated by a grant offered by the Associated Students of the University of Utah, Plant Operations staff initiated an analysis of possible options for the acquisition of green power. The purchase follows the school’s philosophy of preserving resources and creating a healthy environment.
