Partner Profile StopWaste.Org is the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and the Alameda County Source Reduction and Recycling Board operating as one public agency. StopWaste.Org's new LEED-NC Platinum certified headquarters building in downtown Oakland is completely powered with green power. Most of that energy comes from purchases of renewable energy certificates from national wind farms. Direct green power is produced from a small photovoltaic (PV) system on the roof that contributes 10 percent of energy needs for the year.
