| Partner Profile The United States General Services Administration (GSA) is the Federal government's business manager with 64 billion in government wide financial responsibility. GSA (Region 2) procures nearly 80 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy in New York and New Jersey from renewable energy. This is at a rate over 13 times higher than the amount required by EPACT 2005. A group of federal agencies and nongovernmental organizations in New York and New Jersey have joined GSA(Region 2) to purchase an additional 18,000 MWh of green power because they believe in the importance of buying green power for their facilities: the United Nations SG Residence, the Social Security Administration, the Coast Guard, the Red Cross, the National Park Service, and the EPA. These greenpower purchases help protect the environment, create jobs in the private sector, and comply with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and EISA 2007. | |
