Mercury

U.S.-Canada Binational Toxics Strategy Mercury Workgroup

Comprehensive information about mercury and reducing mercury inputs to the environment as well as mercury workgroup activities

Environment Canada’s Mercury Webpage

Mercury Deposition Network (MDN)

The objective of the MDN is to develop a national database of weekly concentrations of total mercury in precipitation and the seasonal and annual flux of total mercury in wet deposition. The data will be used to develop information on spatial and seasonal trends in mercury deposited to surface waters, forested watersheds, and other sensitive receptors.

Canadian Atmospheric Mercury Measurement Network (CAMNet)

Environment Canada established the Canadian Atmospheric Mercury Measurement Network (CAMNet) in 1996 to provide a better understanding of mercury trends and processes in the environment.

Michigan Atmospheric Mercury Network

The Michigan Atmospheric Mercury Network has also incorporated gaseous mercury measurements into their network that has been in existence since the mid-1990s.  The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the University of Michigan Air Quality Laboratory  manage the Michigan network.  See also Great Lakes Air Deposition Program .  The University of Michigan Air Quality Laboratory participates in a number of other varied research programs focused on mercury.
