Title: Research Physical Scientist

EPA Division: Human Exposure and Atmospheric Sciences Division

EPA Branch: Exposure Measurements and Analysis Branch

Narrative:
Erik is actively involved in A Pilot Study to Estimate Human Exposures to Pyrethroids Using an Exposure Reconstruction Approach’ (the Ex-R Study), and Perfluorinated Compounds (PFC’s) in water, serum and dust. He is the lead author in the development of the Creatinine and Specific Gravity Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for previously unused methods and their use in analyzing field samples, and engaged in all field work and lab work involved with the Ex-R research project.

Erik acted as quality assurance manager regarding Ex-R data sets and quality assurance control regarding NEAR Road data sets. He engaged in all laboratory work involving Perfluorinated Compounds (PFC’s), including water, serum, tissue, and dust analysis using multiple forms of mass spectrometry. Erik is currently developing several papers regarding the use of a new Creatinine assay method developed for the Ex-R study as well as co-author on multiple PFC papers that are currently in development.
