Roy Fortmann

Title: Deputy Director

EPA Division: Human Exposure and Atmospheric Sciences Division

Narrative:
Dr. Fortmann’s research interests are in the areas of human exposure assessment, indoor environmental quality, and analytical/environmental chemistry. During the past 25+ years, he has been principal investigator on numerous studies addressing air quality and multi-media exposures in homes, office buildings, schools, airliner cabins, other specialized indoor environments and outdoors. His research has involved measurements of a wide range of chemicals and stressors, including particulate matter, microbiologicals, inorganic gases, volatile organic compounds, and many semi-volatile persistent and non-persistent organic chemicals (e.g., pesticides, phthalates, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, brominated flame retardants, perfluorinated chemicals).
