Purpose:

The 2008 workshop sought to achieve four objectives:

  1. Inform and discuss international climate change policies affecting the magnesium industry,
  2. Share technical information on how magnesium metal and parts suppliers are successfully eliminating SF6 emissions,
  3. Design an approach for "bundling" small and medium-sized magnesium industry emission reduction projects for accelerated implementation (e.g., revenue/cost sharing), and
  4. Learn about the newest advanced magnesium melt protection technologies.
