Constantine Sidamon-Eristoff

EPA Administrator William K. Reilly has named Constantine Sidamon-Eristoff to be the new Regional Administrator for Region 2, which is headquartered in New York City.
Sidamon-Eristoff will head the agency's activities in New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Reilly said, "Constantine Sidamon-Eristoff is a proven and capable administrator who understands the complex problems of the region. He will be a strong advocate for the environment. We are very pleased that he's joining the EPA team"
Sidamon-Eristoff is a practicing attorney, specializing in environmental, land-use and administrative law. He also is an urban transportation consultant.
Sidamon-Eristoff was a member of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of the state of New York from 1974 until the present. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates New York City metropolitan area commuter rail services, the New York city subway and bus system and develops and implements mass transportation policy for the New York City metropolitan area.
Sidamon-Eristoff has served on the New York Governor's Council on the Hudson River Greenway and also as a Commissioner of the New York State Judicial Commission on Minorities. From 1968 to 1973, he was Administrator of the New York City Transportation Administration. Previously, he had served as Commissioner of the New York Department of Highways and as an assistant to the mayor of New York City.
He has been active in civic and charitable groups in New York, including serving as a trustee of Carnegie Hall.
A native of Manhattan, Sidamon-Eristoff was graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in geological engineering. He received his law degree from Columbia Law School and is a member of the New York state bar and numerous other professional groups.
Sidamon-Eristoff is married to Ann Phipps. They have two sons and a daughter.
