California Breathing is a five-year initiative to advance implementation of the Strategic Plan for Asthma in California.  The Plan contains a broad framework for addressing asthma in our state and was developed by medical providers, community groups, government agencies,  academic institutions, researchers, and non-governmental organizations.  It was published in 2002 by the California Department of Health Services.

California Breathing is funded through a cooperative agreement between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Environmental Health Investigations Branch of the state health department.
