August 28-29, 2006
IES and the Ministries of Environment in Japan and the Republic of Korea held a workshop on August 28-29 in Seattle, Washington, to highlight the co-benefits of reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollution at the same time. Representatives from Chile, China, India, and Mexico joined representatives from Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the United States to participate in the event. The workshop featured successful climate change mitigation and air quality improvement efforts in the U.S. and participating countries, and allowed participants to discuss options and approaches that also help them meet their increased energy needs and enhance economic growth.
