The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Japan’s Ministry of the Environment, and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) conducted a joint workshop on March 22-23, 2006, that provided a venue for the bilateral exchange of information about climate change and energy management issues, and to identify potential areas of collaboration on the “co-benefits” that result from the simultaneous reduction of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and criteria air pollutants.
