About Submissions

When Is the Next Reporting?

The next submission period is currently planned for June 1 - September 30, 2011 when manufacturers and importers will report information on their 2010 production.

How is IUR Changing for 2011 Reporting?

EPA is working on a number of improvements for 2011 reporting. Building on the successes of the 2006 IUR electronic reporting, EPA is making the electronic reporting easier and more accessible to all potential reporters, including non-U.S. companies and those submitters filing jointly. Addressing the issues identified during the collection and use of the 2006 IUR data, EPA is redesigning the e-IUR reporting software. The 2011 e-IUR will have additional help features and strengthened validations, to help ensure that your submissions are problem free. In addition, as part of developing reporting tools, instructions, and reporting aids for the 2011 IUR, EPA is deliberating on changes to the specific reporting requirements.

Note to inorganic chemical manufacturers: Inorganic chemicals are no longer partially exempt from the IUR rule. The partial exemption was a one-time exemption for 2006 reporting only.

Did You Miss Reporting for the 2006 IUR?

The 2006 IUR submission period, during which manufacturers and importers reported information from calendar year 2005, ended on March 23, 2007.

In order to comply with the Agency's self-disclosure policy, once a violation has been discovered, a company has 21 days from the time of that discovery to disclose the violation in writing to EPA.
