- Hawaii ('95 - Recycling Economic Development
Advocate [REDA])
The Clean Hawaii Center (CHC), of Hawaii's Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, is providing one-on-one business assistance; funding manufacturing demonstration projects; bringing together recycling businesses, marketing specialists, and loan officers; conducting buy-recycled workshops; and developing a state buy-recycled guide. The CHC is partnering with Small Business Development Centers, the Hawaii Department of Health, the Rural Community Assistance Corporation, and the Environmental Finance Center. - Hawaii ('97 - Materials Exchange Project)
The 97 Hawaii JTR project focused on developing Resource Exchange Facilities. To support the start-up of these facilities in Hawaii, JTR project partners focused on evaluation, planning, coordination, technical assistance, business development, promotion, and public education. The Clean Hawaii Centerpart of Hawaii's Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourismprovided one-on-one business assistance; funded manufacturing demonstration projects; brought together recycling businesses, marketing specialists, and loan officers; conducted buy-recycled workshops; and developed a state buy-recycled guide. In addition to the overall goals of job creation and waste diversion through development of reuse facilities, Hawaii also focused on several specific goals.
