National Tier 2 Full‐Scale Radiological Dispersion Device Exercise

Liberty RadEx drill tested national clean-up and recovery efforts after mock 'dirty bomb' attack (04/26/10) More than 700 personnel from federal, state and local agencies and the private sector participated in a 5-day homeland security exercise in Philadelphia. The exercise, called Liberty RadEx, was the largest drill of its kind sponsored by EPA to test the country’s capability to clean up and help communities recover from a dirty bomb terrorist attack. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and City of Philadelphia co-sponsored the drill. Press Release
