- The Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency's landfill, which opened in 1976, has permitted capacity until approximately 2010, with the potential for expansions that would extend its life for 50 more years. The Agency is interested in developing a direct-use gas-to-energy project at the site.
