- Description
- Hillsborough County has expanded the gas collection and control system (GCCS) at the Hillsborough Heights/Taylor Road Landfill. This project was completed in 2006. The site was open from 1976 to 1984 and has 3.4 million tons waste-in-place. Their Southeast Landfill opened in 1985, currently receives over 1,500 tons/day, has over 8 million tons waste-in-place, and is projected to close in 2040. It is now an NSPS site with GCCS construction completion scheduled for late 2009. They are interested in pursuing an LFGE project for Southeast Landfill as well once the GCCS becomes operational.
