Description: The Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority is a joint powers agency in California composed of the cities of Gonzales, Greenfield, King City, Salinas, Soledad and the eastern half of the unincorporated Monterey County. The Authority is responsible for providing secure long-term solid waste disposal service to all its members in an environmentally sound and cost effective manner. To accomplish this goal, the Authority operates four landfill sites. The Authority is currently reviewing the feasibility of expanding a current LFG project at its Crazy Horse Canyon Sanitary Landfill, and developing a new LFG project at its Johnson Canyon Road Sanitary Landfill.
