Research has involved Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), gel electrophoresis, genomic DNA isolation, hybridization and purification; inoculation, isolation and purification of Giardia cysts from mice and gerbils; detection and identification of Giardia cysts and Cryptosporidium oocysts; detection of Helicobacter pylori in wastewater, ground, surface and drinking water; bacterial indicators of shellfish; tissue culture; and viral assays and identification. More recently, have transitioned into the Program Operations Staff to work as a WACOR on research contracts, Purchase Card Holder, Lab Space Analyst, Custodial Officer, and perform other technical and scientific duties.
