The Mississippi River Basin includes numerous subbasins and watersheds in addition to those of the main stem of the Mississippi River. Within EPA, we have used the major hydrologic subbasins defined by the U.S. Geological Survey to highlight water resource activities.

The Web pages linked above and on the map highlight the activities of subbasin teams set up by the Task Force to address nutrient runoff at the level of major subbasins of the Missisippi River Basin. Organized geographically, each team is comprised of municipal officials, environmental stakeholders, members from industry associations, and state and federal agency officials.
