NREL In My Backyard Tool

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) IMBY tool estimates the electricity you can produce with a solar photovoltaic (PV) or wind turbine at your home or business. IMBY uses a map-based interface to allow you to choose the exact location of your PV array or wind turbine and then estimates the electricity production you can expect from your system. Click on the the IMBY logo above to go to the IMBY tool.

NREL Biopower

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Biopower tool is an interactive geospatial application allowing users to view biomass resources, infrastructure, and other relevant information. Clicking on the Biopower logo above will take you to the Bio-power tool website. There you can select a location on the map, quantify the biomass resources available within a user-defined radius, and then estimate the total thermal energy or power that could be generated by recovering a portion of that biomass.
