Over the past year EPA invited the public to participate in the National Dialogue on Access to Environmental Information. Many people responded by providing suggestions related to their information needs and access preferences.
Suggestions from the National Dialogue were used to develop EPA's Draft Information Access Strategy, which was available for public comment between October 15 and November 14, 2008. The public comments are listed below. In addition, the National Advisory Council on Environmental Policy and Technology (NACEPT), an external federal advisory committee, reviewed the draft Strategy and provided comments (NACEPT comments). All of the comments will be considered as EPA prepares the final Information Access Strategy.
EPA is currently developing an Information Access Implementation Plan that will describe how to put the Strategy into practice. EPA will release the final Strategy by January 2009 and the Implementation Plan in spring 2009.
