Global Change Impacts & Adaptation
Adaptation in the Chesapeake Bay
The Chesapeake Bay is an important national resource that already faces challenges from urbanization and agriculture. Climate change poses additional threats to the Bay’s water quality and ecological resources. Executive Order 13508 tasks EPA and other federal agencies with the development of strategies to adapt the Bay’s natural resources and public infrastructure to the impacts of climate change. Our projects examine how climate change affects both Bay resources and decisions about specific management practices designed to improve those resources in order to fulfill the Executive Order.
