Lodging and Transportation Information
For your convenience, a room block has been reserved at the Washington Plaza Hotel. The rates are $169/night for a single or double, $189 for a triple, and $209 for a quad, plus applicable taxes.

Reservations must be made by March 15, 2010. For those who choose not to stay at the Washington Plaza, search engines will reveal other area hotels.
To reserve rooms at the hotel, contact the reservations department at 202-842-1300 or 800-424-1140 and refer to the National Sustainable Design Expo. You can also go to www.washingtonplazahotel.com, click MAKE A RESERVATION, click GROUP RESERVATION on the bottom of the screen, and use the Attendee Code #8126.
Please note that individual cancellations must be made no later than 3:00 PM 72 hours (3 days) prior to the arrival date to avoid cancellation charges.
The hotel is located within walking distance of two Metro Stations: McPherson Square and Farragut North and is approximately 1.5 miles from the Expo location on the National Mall.
Washington, DC is served by three local airports: Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). In keeping with the environmental goals of the P3 initiative, EPA encourages those traveling to the National Sustainable Design Expo and EPAs P3 Award Competition to use public transportation when possible. In addition, renting cars may not be practical in terms of parking and getting around in Washington, DC. Please note that event parking is not provided, and parking garages near the National Mall can cost as much as $30 per day. Information regarding public transportation to the Washington Plaza Hotel from the local airports is provided below. Visit http://www.wmata.com for a map of the Metrorail Transit Lines and fare, schedule, and passenger information. More information regarding Metro travel to the exact Expo location will be provided as the Expo draws nearer.
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is located on the Metrorail Yellow and Blue lines. Additional information is available at http://www.metwashairports.com/reagan . If youre staying at the Washington Plaza Hotel, the airport Metro stop is only 8 stops from the McPherson Square Metro station.
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is located approximately 25 miles from Washington, DC. The Washington Flyer Coach Service provides direct transportation between Dulles and Metrorail. The Washington Flyer Coach, available at: http://www.washfly.com/ , will take you non-stop to Metro's West Falls Church Station on the Orange line and runs every 30 minutes. Additional information and ground transportation options are available at http://www.metwashairports.com/dulles . If youre staying at the Washington Plaza Hotel, West Falls Church is only 9 stops to the McPherson Square station.
Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is located approximately 35 miles from Washington, DC. Metro offers BWI Express Metro bus service between BWI and the Greenbelt Metro station on the Green line. Amtrak and MARC trains provide service between the BWI airport terminal and the Union Station Metrorail station. Take the Red Line Metro from Union Station to the Farragut North Metro Station. If youre staying at the Washington Plaza Hotel, Union Station is only four stops to the Farragut North Metro Station.
Walking Directions to the Washington Plaza Hotel from nearby Metro Stations:
From the McPherson Metro Station (Orange and Blue Lines): Take the 14th Street exit (14th and I Streets). Walk 3 blocks North on 14th Street to Thomas Circle.
From the Farragut North Metro Station (Red Line): Take the L Street exit (L Street & Connecticut Avenue). Walk 3 blocks East on L Street to 14th Street. Turn left on 14th Street and walk one block North to Thomas Circle.
The Washington Plaza is the large, white, crescent-shaped building. Entrance is on Vermont Avenue.
