Title: The Design and Fabrication of a Lower Cost Heliostat
Mirror System for Utilizing Solar Energy
New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology students will develop a lower-cost heliostat - a mirror-based system that is used to continuously reflect sunlight onto a central receiver where the solar energy is converted to electrical power. Currently, costs associated with the construction and maintenance of heliostats make them too costly to use for energy generation.
