Title: Implementation of Green Roof Sustainability in Arid Conditions
University of California, Davis students are developing methods to determine the efficacy of green roofs in dry, hot, climate zones such inland California and other regions of the Western U.S. Green roof performance (regarding lifecycle energy, carbon footprint, and cost) will be compared to conventional and white roofs and other potential benefits, such as improved storm-water management due to extended duration of roof drainage during intense rainfall events, will be evaluated.
