Title: Chicken Feather Fibers for Hydrogen Storage
University of Delaware students are developing new low cost hydrogen storage substrates from chicken feathers that will potentially compete with carbon nanotubes and metal hydrides at a tiny fraction of the cost. Hydrogen provides a cleaner and cheaper alternative to fossil fuel, thus expanding research on cheaper methods for hydrogen storage will make it more attractive in the consumer market.
Challenge Area(s): Materials & Chemicals, Energy
