Title: Design of an Engine-Generator for the Rural Poor: A Sustainable Systems Approach
Pennsylvania State University students are fabricating a sustainable energy-generator system to provide electrical power to households in Kenya that would be powered by biodiesel produced from locally grown crops. Partnering with NGOs and a university in Kenya, the team will develop the system, as well as an entrepreneurial venture to permit sustainable fabrication of the devices, as part of a sustainable eco-village also being designed.
