Title: Smoothing the Peaks: Smart Outlets to Reduce Brownouts on Micro-Hydroelectric Mini-Grids in Bhutan
Humboldt State University students are constructing and testing prototypes of a Smart Outlet that will prevent excess energy consumption during brownouts in Bhutan. Smart Outlets help reduce air pollution by allowing utility companies to meet peak energy demands with existing hydroelectric resources rather than installing fuel-based generators.
