Title: Development of Apparel and Footwear From Renewable Sources
A team of students from the University of Delaware will design and develop apparel and footwear products from thermoset resins, polyurethane foams, adhesive and nonwoven insulative materials derived from plant oils and chicken feathers. The mechanical and comfort properties of these bio-based materials will be evaluated in accordance with ASTM standards. To evaluate the comfort and consumer acceptance of the clothing and footwear a “human subject” wear test and survey will be conducted.
