Title: Briquettes from Agricultural Residue and Other Wastes for Use in Biomass Syngas Fueled Power Generatio
A team of students from Gonzaga University will develop an integrated system for using agricultural and residential waste to produce Syngas, a bio-fuel, for power generation. A modular, electric-powered feedstock processing machine will be engineered to form briquettes by compacting agricultural residue to increase their bulk density. In the next phase the briquettes will be linked to a module to extract biogas. The briquette machine will be mobile so it can be moved to where agricultural wastes are common in order to increase sustainability and reduce transportation of the biomass.
