To bring together environmentally-related nanotechnology research
from government agencies with different missions in order
to exchange scientific information, and identify areas for cooperation
and coordination.
To instill consideration of and for the environment into the
research regardless of application.

Government sponsored researchers – approximately 75 participants
Value
The value will be to determine how environmental applications and
implications cross-cut research in nanotech and how agencies and researchers
can better cooperate and communicate their research, and coordinate in
this area.
Expected Outcome
It is expected that a broader community of researchers will be
formed who consider both possible environmental applications for their
work and the broader environmental implications of the production and
products resulting from nanotechnology. Extended abstracts and a web summary
will be published.
