EPA's Combined Heat and Power Partnership (EPA HQ)
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is an efficient, clean, and reliable approach to generating power and thermal energy from a single fuel source. By installing a CHP system designed to meet the thermal and electrical base loads of a facility, CHP can increase operational efficiency and decrease energy costs, while reducing emissions of greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.
This voluntary program seeks to reduce the environmental impact of power generation by promoting the use of CHP. The Partnership works closely with energy users, the CHP industry, state and local governments, and other stakeholders to support the development of new projects and to promote their energy, environmental, and economic benefits. The Partnership offers a variety of tools and services designed to facilitate and promote the development of CHP projects.
