Users wanting an automated way to temporally and/or spatially subset these data should go to the Remote Sensing Information Gateway (RSIG) website and follow the instructions to use the RSIG application. In addition to the SFADS data, this website and application contains other satellite and modeling data sources.

Wet Deposition Surfaces

A different Bayesian space-time model is used to predict weekly fused predictive nitrate and sulfate deposition surfaces for 2001. Then, the weekly surfaces are combined across the year to produce annual sulfate and nitrate deposition values. Here, we use weekly monitoring data from the National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP) and CMAQ numerical model output at the 12 km resolution. Surfaces for additional years will be added to create a series of annual deposition files.  The wet deposition predictive files contain the following variables:

  • Long - longitude
  • Lat - laitude
  • Pollutant Prediction - either nit_annpred or sul_annpred (annual sulfate or nitrate deposition)
  • Standard Error of Prediction - either nit_annpredsd or sul_annpredsd (standard error of annual sulfate or nitrate deposition)
