EPHD Branch Chief To Have Active Role in ISI 2011
Timothy J. Wade, Epidemiology Branch Chief in NHEERL’s Environmental Public Health Division (EPHD) in Research Triangle Park, NC, will be participating in the 58th World Statistics Congress of the International Statistical Institute (ISI 2011). At the meeting, to be held in Dublin, Ireland, in late August 2011, Dr. Wade will chair a session titled “Epidemiologic and Modeling Approaches To Estimate Waterborne Disease Burden,” which will promote the importance of accurate estimation of waterborne disease to a diverse and international audience. He also will give a separate presentation, “Development of Exposure-Response Relationships Between Indicators of Water Quality and Swimming-Associated Illness,” and present his own research on recreational water, anticipating feedback from international experts regarding the approaches used to analyze and describe the data.
