ISTD Researcher Provides Input to OECD Test Guidelines Panel
Andrew Kligerman of the NHEERL Integrated Systems Toxicology Division (ISTD) Genetic and Cellular Toxicology Branch recently took part in an Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Expert Panel on the Review of Test Guidelines for Genotoxicity. The mission of the OECD is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. The OECD provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems, including chemical safety testing. Pursuant to that goal, the OECD establishes standardized Test Guidelines for a variety of endpoints related to chemical safety. Dr. Kligerman’s participation in this expert group was to provide input into the further development of genotoxicity test guidelines.
