TAD Researchers To Speak at European Teratology Society Annual Meeting

The European Teratology Society (ETS) Annual Meeting, held in Arles, France, September 6-10, 2009, was a major international meeting focused on developmental and reproductive toxicology and presented an opportunity for EPA to learn more about Europe's efforts in using molecular data for regulatory purposes. International Life Sciences Institute's (ILSI's) Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI) workshops were included in the meeting program.

John Rogers, NHEERL Toxicity Assessment Division's Acting Director, was invited by ETS to participate in the Symposium on Lifestyle and the Next Generation and to deliver an invited talk entitled "Tobacco and Pregnancy." At the ILSI/HESI workshop on maternal toxicity, Dr. Rogers presented the "Overview and Background."

Neil Chernoff of the NHEERL Toxicity Assessment Division's Developmental Toxicology Branch participated in the Symposium on Molecular Aspects of Embryology and Teratology and delivered a talk entitled "Relationships of Maternal and Fetal Weight Changes in Developmental Toxicology Bioassays." Dr. Chernoff also gave a talk on that same subject at the ILSI/HESI workshop on maternal toxicity.
