Bioremediation Technology for Treatment of TNT-Contaminated Soils September 1995 Capsule (540/R-95/529a) This report summarizes the findings of the second evaluation of the J.R. Simplot Ex-situ Bioremediation Technology also known as the Simplot Anaerobic Bioremadiation(SABRE™) process. This technology was developed by the J.R. Simplot Company to biologically degrade nitroaromatic and energetic compounds. The first evaluation was performed using soil contaminated with dinoseb, an agricultural herbicide. The second evaluation, and subject of thii report, demonstrated the effectiveness of the process on the biodegradation of soil contaminated with 2,4,6-Trinitrotoluene (TNT). These evaluations were conducted under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Program. |
