All inquires about applying for process equivalency should be directed to the appropriate permitting authority. In most cases the permitting authority will be the regional biosolids coordinator. Currently only seven states (Arizona, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin) have been delegated the authority to issue their own permits in accordance with the 40 CFR Part 503 regulation. However, another 15 states are actively seeking delegation from their regions. The state biosolids coordinator is the permitting authority in these delegated states.
