 Abstract

  Providing Solutions for a Better Tomorrow, Reducing the Risks Associated With Lead in Soil (EPA/600/F-01/014) March 2001

This brief publication describes the health risks associated with exposure to soil and dust contaminated with lead. It also describes an innovative method for immobilizing lead contaminants in the soil, thereby reducing the risk of exposure at Superfund sites.

A discussion is included of bioavailability and the associated findings of the In-Place Inactivation and Natural Ecological Restoration Technologies Soil-Metals Action Team.
