EPA’S ETV Program Convenes Second Stakeholders BriefingRelease date: 05/05/2004 Contact: Jane Ice (513) 569-7311 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASECINCINNATI (May 5, 2004) – The U.S. EPA’s Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program invites you to attend its second Stakeholders Briefing at the Hilton Crystal City in Arlington, VA, on May 11 and 12. The event begins with opening addresses by key EPA officials. Presentations from representatives of ETV’s partner agencies and institutions are scheduled for both days, together with displays and demonstrations from vendors of ETV-verified technologies. Speakers will be:
The two-day Stakeholders Briefing will include opening addresses by Dr. Gilman, Dr. Reiter, Mr. Oppelt and Ms. Harten. This briefing will communicate the benefits of ETV to interested stakeholders. Presentations will include those from EPA staff, ETV cooperative agreement partners and technology vendors. In addition, speakers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will discuss their collaboration on ETV projects. Sessions on the first day include Water and Water Security, Air and Energy, and Toxics and Prevention. Session on the second day include Safe Buildings and ETV Case Studies. Several of the technologies to be discussed were verified in conjunction with EPA’s National Homeland Security Research Center. Vendors of verified technologies from the categories above will display and demonstrate their technologies at the briefing.
