Advanced Monitoring Systems Center
Wastewater Rapid Toxicity Technologies
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of rapid toxicity technologies for wastewater monitoring.

Contact:  Mary Schrock, Battelle, (614) 424-4976
Underground Storage Tank Leak Detection Technologies
The center is forming a technical stakeholder panel and a vendor panel to guide testquality assurance plan development for Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) leak detection technologies for use with ethanol-blended fuels. These panels will include representatives from industry associations, state and federal governments, and technology users, including representatives of the National Working Group for Leak Detection Evaluations, EPA Office of Underground Storage Tanks, American Petroleum Institute, and others. Interested individuals should contact the center with questions or interest in participating by no later than November 13

Contact:  Anne Gregg, Battelle, (614) 424-7419
Monitoring Technologies
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of monitoring technologies for contaminants in air, water, and soil.

Contact:  Ann Louise Sumner, Battelle, (614) 424-3973

Drinking Water Systems Center
Drinking Water Treatment Technologies

The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of new, innovative, and emerging drinking water treatment technologies and equipment.  Of particular interest are technologies that help to address the following issues and concerns:

  • Water conservation and reuse (e.g., the Great Lakes and other areas have been losing water to evaporation and other effects of global climate change)
  • Reductions in energy consumption and energy efficiency for drinking water treatment, such as the safe use of nanotechnology in treatment or energy recovery systems integrated into treatment equipment
  • Drinking water treatment technologies that reduce the volume, hazard and/or risk of residuals.

Technologies that address one or more of the above issues and also treat, reduce, or remove one or more of the following contaminants are of high priority, should and when funding becomes available:

  • Contaminants regulated under the Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule, particularly membrane separation and UV inactivation processes
  • Groundwater Rule, arsenic, radium, uranium and other existing drinking water rules
  • Contaminants being considered, proposed, reviewed, or assessed by the EPA for regulation.

Greenhouse Gas Technology Center
Distributed Electrical Generation and Combined Heating/Cooling and Power Technologies
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of technologies associated with distributed electrical generation (i.e., fuel cells, Stirling engines, reciprocating engines), including combined heating/cooling and power applications (e.g., waste heat recovery for space heating, water heating, chillers/refrigeration, dehumidification, etc.), and utilizing various fuels such as natural gas, hydrogen, biofuels, etc.

Contact:  Tim Hansen, Southern Research, (919) 282-1052
Micro-Combined Heat and Power Technologies
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of small, residential scale (less than 10 kilowatts) combined heat and power (CHP) technologies. These "micro-CHP" technologies are utilized to provide on-site power generation, space heat, hot water heating, and/or cooling at residences and small commercial facilities.

Contact:  Tim Hansen, Southern Research, (919) 282-1052
Solar Thermal Cooling
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of solar thermal technologies that use solar energy and heat to drive cooling processes.

Contact:  Tim Hansen, Southern Research, (919) 282-1052

Materials Management and Remediation Center
Materials Management Technologies
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of materials management technologies in the areas of plastics recycling, tire recycling, electronics recycling, materials sorting, and manufactured soils.

Contact:  Amy Dindal, Battelle, (561) 422-0113
Remediation Technologies
The center is soliciting vendors and collaborators for verification testing of remediation technologies in the areas of delivery methods, biological processes, in situ chemical oxidants, in situ chemical reductants, soil and sediment remediation, and emerging contaminant remediation technologies.

ESTE Project for Performance Characteristics of Qualitative Spot Test Kits for
Lead in Paint
Lead Test Kits
The Environmental and Sustainable Technology Evaluations (ESTE) project for Performance Characteristics of Qualitative Spot Test Kits for Lead in Paint is soliciting vendors for Phase 2 verification testing of lead test kits. The EPA Lead; Renovation, Repair, and Painting Program rule identifies the ETV Program for obtaining independent laboratory validation of test kit performance. ETV will verify test kits based on the criteria established for the second phase evaluation process (5% false negative and 10% false positive standards).

For more information, visit ETV's Environmental and Sustainable Technology Evaluations Web Page.
